Denis Villeneuve’s Dune was a huge hit at the box office last year. The movie nailed Frank Herbert’s seminal science-fiction novel, and even beat out the big-budget Blade on its debut day.
The follow-up, Dune: Part Two, will also be directed by Villeneuve. He and screenwriter Jon Spaihts will return for a screenplay based on the second half of Herbert’s original novel.
Timothee Chalamet
Timothee Chalamet stars as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, which continues the story of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science-fiction epic. Filming is underway on the sequel, which will be released worldwide in November 2023.

Josh Brolin stars as a marketing salesman whose drinking and roving eye cause him to lose deals. He tries to make up for lost time with his estranged wife (Brittany Murphy) and their daughter Mia.

Stellan Skarsgard
Actor Stellan Skarsgard, whose sons Alexander and Bill Skarsgard have already become major stars, has signed on to Dune: Part Two. The sequel will continue the story of Paul Atreides, who is joined by his mother Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) as he learns the ways of the Fremen.
Skarsgard is one of the main characters, along with Dave Bautista as Baron Harkonnen’s sadistic henchman Glossu Rabban. Other cast members include Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Stephen McKinley Henderson.
Dave Bautista
The second film in the Dune franchise, Dune Part Two, is due out next year and is more amped up and intense than its predecessor. It stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista and Charlotte Rampling.
The plot follows Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he struggles with his mysterious destiny. As the heir to the House Atreides, Paul finds himself ordered to lead Arrakis, a desert planet that supplies the spice necessary for faster-than-light travel.
Stephen McKinley Henderson
Actor Stephen McKinley Henderson stars in Dune: Part Two as Thufir Hawat, a loyal Mentat to House Atreides. He also plays a member of the Fremen who tries to kill Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet).
Henderson trained at Juilliard and has been a resident of the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, where he often performs August Wilson works. He also conducts workshops and informances throughout the nation.
Florence Pugh
Dune: Part Two stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, a young man who’s drawn into a prophecy that could change the future of the galaxy. He’ll be joined by a number of big-name actors including Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin.
Production is officially underway for Dune Part Two, which continues the story of Frank Herbert’s 1965 sci-fi novel. Right now, Legendary is looking to cast three major roles: Emperor Shaddam IV, Princess Irulan, and Feyd-Rautha, the cunning nephew of Stellan Skarsgard’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.
Austin Butler
Austin Butler is set to star as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, a major villain whose treacherous nature is a key element of the sequel. A seasoned baddie, Butler went through a rigorous training program to prepare for his role.
The actor, known for his roles in Disney Channel and Nickelodeon tween series such as Hannah Montana and Zoey 101, has been in the entertainment business since 2005. He is currently starring in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis movie, and he has an upcoming project with Quentin Tarantino.
Christopher Walken
Christopher Walken has a long and distinguished career as an actor. His work has ranged from comedies to dramas.
He’s most well known for his role as a Vietnam War veteran in the Oscar-winning The Deer Hunter, but he also starred in Heaven’s Gate and the surprisingly good Pennies from Heaven. He also portrayed schoolteacher-turned-psychic Johnny Smith in David Cronenberg’s The Dead Zone.
